Scope of the Technical Meeting:

The DYMAT 2025 Technical Meeting will focus on the dynamic behaviour of materials applied to manufacturing processes, emphasizing experimental characterization, modelling, and simulation. This edition will explore the complex material responses that are fundamental to a wide range of industrial manufacturing techniques, including sheet metal forming, forging, machining, additive manufacturing, and more.

As manufacturing processes evolve to meet demands for increased efficiency, environmental sustainability, and precision, understanding the behaviour of materials under dynamic conditions is crucial. Materials such as metals, polymers, and composites exhibit unique characteristics during high-speed deformation processes, including strain rate sensitivity, thermal effects, and microstructural and damage evolution. These behaviours must be accurately captured and modelled to improve the performance and reliability of advanced manufacturing systems.

The conference will highlight:

  • Experimental techniques to investigate material behaviour under dynamic loading conditions, with a focus on high strain rates and elevated temperatures.
  • Numerical modelling and simulations tailored to predict deformation, damage, and failure mechanisms in manufacturing processes.
  • Industrial applications of these research advances, including automotive, aerospace, energy, bioengineering, and tooling sectors.
